As the Twelfth lesson in Volume 4 of The Guide to Godly Play, it can be presented any Sunday in the Church year. This lesson places the image of the Good Shepherd from John 10 and Psalm 23 beside Holy Communion. The images of the Good Shepherd and the Holy Communion deepen each other's interpretation when set side-by-side like this. One does not need to step outside the domain of religious language into the language of philosophy of science, for example, to talk about the two religious images or interpret them. One can remain within religious language, meditating, while the images disclose the depths in each other.
