Enrichment Presentation - Liturgical Action Lesson
Volume 3 - Lesson 6:The Mystery of Christmas Includes: Gold box containing 9 picture cards (1 glued to bottom of inside of box and 1 glued to lid of box), 7 biblical texts cards, 7 title cards and white felt underlay.
This Enrichment Lesson can be presented on any Sunday either before or after Christmas, as time allows. The presentation is based on the book The Glorious Impossible by Madeleine L' Engle. (The book is now out of print. Godly Play Resources has secured the rights to use the pictures in this lesson). Ms. L'Engle provides a poetic commentary on seven classical moments of the infancy narratives of Matthew and Luke. The medieval frescoes of Giotto, from the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, are used instead of modern, realistic pictures or models to honor the deep mystery of the Incarnation without the loss of its historical fact.

NEW Glorious Impossible Inspired, DIY materials. We are offering as a download and also prints only version. This will include 9 color prints, title and text cards. (For the best results print in color on 11" X 17”, 32# paper) These images are inspired by the original frescoes of Giotto, but may not completely reflect the text that was written for the original art. The Storyteller may need to make slight adjustments, and or add to their dialogue to reflect these new images. The new images were created by local artist and Godly Play employee, Teika Arnold.
We have different options for this lesson, which will fit everyone’s budget.
