As the eleventh lesson in Volume 4 of The Complete Guide to Godly Play it is usually presented before the Day of Pentecost. This presentation is called "Jesus and the Twelve" to avoid calling the Twelve either disciples or apostles. There are four lists of the apostles in the New Testament, found in Matthew 10:2-4, Mark 3:16-19, Luke 6:14-16, and Acts 1:2 and 13. The four lists give contradictory names for the Twelve. This historical difficulty has several scholarly solutions, but or pedagogical purpose is to present the group as the Twelve, with a fixed set of names.
We have different options for this lesson, which will fit everyone’s budget.
